New city, new start
Feb 12th, 2007 by jennie
Welcome to twinknit, v2.0.
I finally hit my threshold dealing with blogger and decided it was time to head out on my own. I figure, I’m moving to a new city, I’m getting a new start, why not have a new blog to go with it. I’m still working out a lot of kinks, I’m not totally happy with the design, and I’m struggling to learn more code so I can change things around (amazing what procrastinating from dissertation writing will lead you to, eh? My dad’s been trying to get me to learn code for years now). But I’ve finally got the site up and running enough to start posting and not feel embarassed about company.
Some things to note — I don’t know how this messes with bloglines… I guess I need to add my site to bloglines again? I’m not really sure how it works, mostly because I’ve never used it. Maybe now is the time. If anything seems wonky, let me know and if anyone has any suggestions, let me know that too.
Knitting content to come, because there HAS been knitting. Thanks for your patience. I hope you like my new place!
p.s. Extra thanks to my brother, Colten, for helping me set this up. It would have taken me months to do it on my own.
exciting! i’ve only been using blogger for about six months now, but i’m already setting my sights elsewhere. i may have to pick your brain about your transition.
anyway, the new blog looks great! is that you in the banner image?
I think it looks fab! Congratulations on the move.
FYI, your posts look great in Google Reader.
Are you taking in any of the Carolina Chocolate Drops residency this week? I’ll definitely be there Thursday, almost certainly on Saturday, and maybe on Wednesday.
Congrats!! In the sidebar code for your blog, you already have feed code. I was your first subscriber! Woot woot!!
You can actually do quite a bit with WordPress with only minimal coding. Plugins get you places!
This is wonderfully fancy, but is it possible for your blog to be any more fun to read?
You’re showing up in bloglines just fine. I too recently made the exodus from Blogger. It’s a bit of slow going, but I’m sure you’ll do fine. The site looks good!
congrats on the move! the new digs look great! i went ahead and subscribed manually but do go through bloglines and get the button/feed thing. enjoy your new home!
Welcome to the world of having your own domain name. It’s just so satisfying. I have updates and plans for my blog that never materialize–you’re inspiring me to go back soon!
Just a note for other potential Blogger refugees: I have nothing but love for Typepad.
Congrats on the new look. I particularly like the header image.
Yay for new blogs! Yay for new beginnings!
