Off to Pittsburgh
Feb 28th, 2007 by jennie
I’m leaving this afternoon for Pittsburgh. Right now, I’m running around like crazy, trying to pack, settle things with the cats, clean a little, and finish my paper before heading out. So I leave you with (very unglamorous) photos of my car knitting.

See? I don’t always blog about all my knitting. Since my last trip to Philly, I’ve been secretly knitting away in spare moments on my EZ Seamless Hyrbid (which will, hopefully, also be my first attempt at steeking, ’cause I want to make it a cardigan). I haven’t posted because, well, body-tube photos are boring. But look at the yarn:

Isn’t it lovely? It’s a deep heathered eggplant purple, with flecks of red and blue and beautiful in it. I love it. The yarn is Cascade 220, and I’m a total convert. Cheap, functional and so beautiful. Hopefully, the body will be done by the time I get back. 7 hours in the car is a lot of time for knitting.
And when that gets boring?

More circular knitting!
Have a good rest of the week/weekend. I’ll see y ‘all Monday!
Have a great trip! Your seamless hybrid is looking great–keep that action going! And it’s good that you’ve got the most onerous task crossed off the list (phew–I hate cleaning the cat litterl!)!!
The hybrid is coming along, isn’t it? So brave - steeking! *shudder*
Hmm, is that a Sockotta sock? Or a Regia Bamboo? Or?
Have a good trip (and iTrip, looks like)!
Funny, Jessica of Zarzuela Knits and Crochets (http://zarzuelaknitsandcrochets.com/blog) just got to Pittsburgh for some kind of conference.
Can’t wait to see more of the seamless hybrid. I am especially eager to see the steeking!
Hi, I’m sorry I’ve missed commenting on your last few posts - I have been kind of ignoring my computer life!
Anyway, I hope you have fun in my old stomping ground!
I love your Koigu Pomatomus socks. Gorgeous.
Oh, and I live with a beer person. Fiver is a homebrewer. He’s always tinkering around out there in the shed with something hoppy or malty or some such. So, although I’m not a beer snob (I just love it al!) I have learned to talk the talk of a beer connoisseur. I will pass on your recommendations to him!
i love that cascade color! and yay for you for even thinking of steeking…i’m still skeeeered ;o)
Anything but boring!
that sock yarn you’re using is so cool! what is it?
