Today is extraordinarily beautiful. I went for a long walk this morning and took some photos (this is gonna be a photo-heavy post, all in the name of spring and Project Spectrum, of course!)

Pattern: My own (based on Eunny’s Endpaper Mitts, but modified a lot)
Yarn: Lorna’s Laces in “Tuscany”
Needles: Knitpicks dpns, US 0
Thoughts: Fun, quick, beautiful. They took less than one skein of yarn — in fact, I probably could have added an inch to each wrist, if mom had wanted me to. And can I say again how much I love Lorna’s? Perfect for spring. Add too all of that a tubular cast on/bind off and twisted 1×1 ribbing? Love.
It’s interesting to me how my last two knits have both been with a yarn called “Tuscany”. The strangest part about it? Neither of them even remotely come close to my idea of a Tuscan colorway. It would need a golden warmth, dry greens and delicate yellows, and a deep cerulean blue. Maybe a flash of pink or purple, just a flash. Nothing like this Lorna’s or that Jitterbug. Ah well… to each his own.
And now for some Project Spectrum:
West Philly is beautiful this time of year. I’m so lucky to have two places that feel like home.

New flip flops (I don’t normally slide this far down in my flops, but this was their first time out of the house and it took a bunch of walking before the straps stretched out for me to shove my foot in).

Clark Park.

Trees.

More trees.

I’ve finally caught up with my bloglines. Sorry for lurking and not posting on all of your lovely blogs. I’ll catch up with that soon too.
Have a beautiful Friday all.
Gorgeous photos!! Your mitts turned out really well, too. I hope this chilly rainy weather we’re having doesn’t keep heading east…
welcome home! your fingerless gloves turned out really pretty - lucky mom!
Great mits! I love the colorway. Oh and the images of spring are just gorgeous.
I completely agree on the Tuscan colors, though I guess if judged just by the flower pots on people’s doorsteps in the country side, that colorway might work.
Ah, Tuscany… just thinking about it makes me smile.
I’m chipping away at my bloglines, too! Love these shots. Clark Park is so fun. (I’m surprised my friend Tamar wasn’t in your shots!)
I love the way your mitts turned out! So pretty.
As are your photos. Your making it seem so bright and springy here (when in reality it’s storming and dark outside)!
Beautiful post! I love Philly in the spring… and the Endpapers are fab! I bet your mom hearts them.
Gorgeous - the knits, the spring. Hope the writing is done and you can get out and enjoy it more!
