Meanwhile, back at the ranch…
May 17th, 2007 by jennie
When I was in highschool, I was in a modern dance company. The director of the company was this wonderful woman — very calm, very patient, wonderful choreographer. When we were rehearsing and working up pieces, she would break each dance into sections and we would run through them one at a time. When she transitioned from one section to another, she would always say something along the lines of “Ok, so good. And then, meanwhile, back at the ranch, Jennie’s doing this…” Now, almost thirteen years later, every time I say that phrase, I think of her.
Anyway… meanwhile, back at the Orangina ranch, things in ribbing land were getting a little boring (and painful. Oh cotton, how I do not love thee!). So I pulled out another kind of ribbing that’s been sitting neglected for a while.

Yep. By the end of May I hope to have Orangina and the Nothern Lights mittens OTN so I can move on to something new. ‘Cause you might have noticed it’s been a while since I’ve worked on a new pair of socks, and I’ve got designs for some nice yarn in my stash (insert evil laughter here!).
I can just hear the evil laughter now!! Mwahahaha!!
I’m looking forward to seeing them both finished & feeling your pain on the cotton front. Sigh…..
Ah, the siren song of something new. How delightful.
cool! i liked the first mitten you did, so i’m happy you’re breaking out the second one. and new socks will be exciting - can’t wait to see what your evil mind comes up with.
I like the corrugated ribbing - always so cool looking. I’m not sure I could manage without a pair of socks on the needles…
Purty ribbin’! (That’s how they’d talk at the ranch, right?)
No socks on the needles?! I’d die.
I have a surprise for you. Please visit me, and forgive me!
