Pardon Me…
Jul 11th, 2007 by jennie
… But I’ve fled the heat of the city. I’ve spent the last three days in the Adirondacks.
I’m unshowered. Wearing the same cut-off shorts. Taking frequent dips in the lake. Knitting this sock. And, most importantly, writing. Writing, writing, writing. Because this chapter is clearly not writing itself.
I’ll have pictures and much more when I return. In the meantime… Did I mention I met Minty? She blogged about this ages ago and I’m lazy (sorry!) so I’ll leave you with her summary. Suffice it to say, I had a wonderful time. It never ceases to amaze me that although knitting might brings us all together, we manage to have so much more in common than that. My afternoon with Erin was much like an afternoon spent with an old friend. I can’t wait until we do it again!! Maybe next time, I’ll be better at taking pictures

I leave you with my cousin’s suggestion of what I do with my single-socks.

Puppets!

Yeah for getting away from it all!
I love the Adironacks and go up there frequently. My family has been vacationing there all my life!! Glad you had a relaxing time.
Have fun!
It was so nice to meet you and hang out! And if every picture you take of me features my hair looking so damn nice, let’s hang out ALL the time!
Enjoy the escape from the heat–it’s been gross.
Hey, if you return to civilization and want to go to a knitblogger gathering in Philly: http://flintknits.blogspot.com/2007/07/philadelphia-rock-city.html
I’ll just be hanging out here in Minneapolis feeling jealous!
I adore the Adirondacks!!! I hope you had a great time!
Those are some seriously nice sock puppets!
