…in which (once again) I barely talk about knitting

So twenty-eight has started out far from ideal. First plan of action in my 29th year? To get my car inspected so that I can head out on this trip of mine with the peace (or is it piece?) of mind of knowing my car is in tip top (i.e. will-pass-inspection) shape. Too bad it’s costing me $1000 to do that.
sigh.
That was unexpected. And led to a great deal of soul-searching in which (with the help of the boy and parents) I have come to the conclusion that it might be time to part ways with Lil’ Betsy. So this is the last of many hurrahs that Betsy and I have had. It’s going to be a good one. Hopefully, I’ll get a post in before I head to Clifftop, WV for the week on Monday. But I promise you all fantastic knitting when I return — I’m almost done with one knee sock, and I will finish New England #2 if it kills me. I feel a sudden push toward finishing socks — maybe it’s the coming of a new semester, the promise of fall, the desire for new knitting… who knows. Best not to question.
Thank you all for the birthday wishes. They made my day.
Are you going to get a new car, or go car free? Have a good trip!
Philly does have that public car sharing program thing. Might be a good way to go if you don’t need it that often.
Hey, happy belated birthday! I’m in the throes of that same decision about my car… she’s been a reliable steed for many a country-crossing, but I’m feeling the need to be free of the costs, especially with bikes and free buses nearby now. But it’s hard! Here’s to your parting being more sweet than bitter :).
Happy belated birthday!!!
So sorry about Betsy!
