Pardon me…
Oct 3rd, 2007 by jennie

… but i’ve been drowning a little. I haven’t blogged in forever. I’m behind on bloglines. I’ve stopped commenting on the blogs I do manage to read. I haven’t gotten more than 6 hours of sleep at night in over a week. I’m falling into the pit of mid-semester.
I’m pulling myself out of it and (fingers crossed) should at least be more than one nostril above water by the end of the week. Just wanted to let you know that:
a) i’m still here.
b) there’s been knitting.
c) hopefully there will soon be a pattern (!). Want a (badly photographed) teaser?
d) I’ve gotten things together enough to read a few blogs at night before bed and in the morning. Everyone is knitting such inspiring things. Hopefully I’ll get it together enough to start commenting!
And now? To bed. Thursdays are 6 a.m. mornings these days. Oh grading papers, how I hate thee!
hang in there, girl! hope things get better/easier for you soon.
The best thing about semesters is that they END. There is a finishing line to all the madness, just do whatever it takes to get there sane.
(Although I should caution that the “do whatever it takes” advice is how I gained about ten pounds my last year of grad school.)
Oh you poor thing. I sympathize completely. Just do what you have to do, and you’ll get through it. You will!
I’m sorry you are drowning, but I have to say I love the picture.
It speaks volumes! Hang in there. . .
Hang in there!! I do love the picture - it perfectly sums up the grad student experience that I remember.
Aw, take care!
I’m grading too, but with incentives: grade for 1 hour, knit for 10 minutes.
Your cat took a great picture of you! All those people who think teachers have it easy — working 9 to 3, with summers and holidays off–need to see that photo. Hang in there!
