It's true that it's plain, but it's going to be wrapped around an adorable baby head and face, and at that point I think plain old pretty yarn is sufficient.

Six months from graduation! Have you figured out how many days that is?

It looks like the toe of a giant sock, hehe!

I'm working on my MA, and I'm NOT looking forward to my PhD. I have a 15 page paper on Vietnam that's kicking my butt as we speak. *twitch twitch*

Congrats on the paperwork! You'll get through in no time (no, really).

I like the hat with ears, but then, I'm a sucker for anything with ears (cats, hats, puppies, etc).

You have a plan!! Woot woot!

I read somewhere that often small changes in needle sizes like that have more effect on the row gauge than on the stitch gauge.

I like it as is, but you could also do a little embroidery on a bottom corner. A flower or something.

Deep and stunning colors for babies are always appropriate. So few people look good in pastels. :)

And go you, Professor Smarty-Pants! You're in the home stretch now.

Professor Smarty-Pants!! I'm so happy for you, and not a little bit jealous. (Next year, I swear.)

And I do love the hat -- such a great, simple pattern. I just made one with froggy eyes instead of ears, but have plans for a couple of 'plain' ones too.
