I love so many of Evelyn Clark's designs, particularly Leaf Lace and the Shetland Triangle, but they're both pretty dense as lace goes. It's free and interesting to knit. You can make it any size you like since you start from the bottom point. It's fairly easy to memorize and pretty adjustable depending on your yarn and yardage. Interesting but not totally boring.
