Souvenir yarn is definitely on the menu! I took a peek at Ravelry and see that there are two stores in San Antonio: The Yarn Barn and Yarivore. Unfortunately for the good people of San Antonio, the Yarn Barn is closing soon--but luckily for you that might mean a good sale!
Good luck and have fun. :)

I don't have San Antonio advice but I do want to say I know all too well the feeling of overwhelm and stress. I hope your trip and the conference are excellent!

We have 2 LYS in San Antonio. The Yarn Barn, which is closing in April (boo) and Yarnivore. Not sure where you're staying in town, but it may require renting a car to get to them. Hope you enjoy your trip and conference!!

I make the exact same promise every time I do a conference. I won't go to Kinko's to print the paper that I've been frantically revising on the plane. I won't stand at the podium and read my chicken scratch edits scrawled in the margins of my paper. Yup, do it every time. Not that I'd wish that stress on anyone, but maybe it helps us both to know that we're all the same. All perfectionists who have to edit to the very last second.

Anyway, hope you had a wonderful trip and are able to find some comfort in your finished dissertation dream that you posted earlier. My friends and I have been playing by emailing each other all the delightful things we're going to do when we aren't feeling the dissertation burden on our shoulders.
