These took way, way, way longer than they should have. I cast on as a quick project in December and (sigh) two months later, here they are:
Pattern: Dashing (from Knitty, Spring 2007)
Yarn: Malabrigo Worsted Delight, in “Frost Gray” (under a skein… this stuff has wonder-yardage)
Needles: US 5 and US 4 dpns
Thoughts: Well… other than […]

Today is the perfect first day of February — gloomy, dark, rainy, and generally kind of miserable. A day to foreshadow what will inevitably be the weather for the rest of the month. But because we’ve only had cold-and-incredibly-sunny lately, and it’s only the first of february so I haven’t had time to […]
Ask and you shall receive:
THANKSGIVING DAY MITTS
Materials:
less than a skein of worsted weight (I used a mystery wool similar to Cascade 220)
3.75 mm, US 5 dpns or needles required for preferred method of knitting in the round
Cable Needle (although I highly suggest cabling without one)
Tapestry Needle
Gauge:
Because these mitts are ribbed, gauge is not terribly important. […]
Recently, D and I decided to merge our households– namely, I will be moving in to his (now almost totally renovated) house (Stella, I totally owe you pictures!). There are many things I do not like about moving, especially when I have to do it twice in one year. I don’t like packing. […]
… but i’ve been drowning a little. I haven’t blogged in forever. I’m behind on bloglines. I’ve stopped commenting on the blogs I do manage to read. I haven’t gotten more than 6 hours of sleep at night in over a week. I’m falling into the pit of mid-semester.
I’m pulling myself out of it and […]
I couldn’t help myself. I was having a bad day. I needed something new, something to spark my interest. And spark my interest it did, since I stayed up until 2 a.m. to finish it. It’s been a while since my knitting has inspired this kind of dedication.
I’m gonna hold off on commenting on my […]
Today is extraordinarily beautiful. I went for a long walk this morning and took some photos (this is gonna be a photo-heavy post, all in the name of spring and Project Spectrum, of course!)
Pattern: My own (based on Eunny’s Endpaper Mitts, but modified a lot)
Yarn: Lorna’s Laces in “Tuscany”
Needles: Knitpicks dpns, US 0
Thoughts: Fun, quick, […]
Still in Kentucky, but heading down this evening to MerleFest in North Carolina.
A few notes of interest:
- If you are participating in the Sound Swap, you should have received an e-mail from me with your “swapee.” If you haven’t, drop me an e-mail and I’ll take care of this ASAP.
- There has been knitting here. Mom’s fingerless gloves are […]
1. Non-drowsy cold medicines, of all varieties, make me feel high. I used to think it was just Day-quil, but no. It’s all non-drowsy meds. Whatever it is they put in there to counteract the soporific qualities makes me absolutely dizzy-loopy. It’s a challenge to knit on size 0 needles when you feel loopy.
2. I’ve […]
As if the nasty weather weren’t enough, I’ve been floored by a particularly aggressive cold. I haven’t even felt much like knitting, although I cast on and knit a few inches of my mom’s new fingerless gloves (good lord, this particular shade of lorna’s is beautiful! You would never have known it from the skein, […]
