So I lied…

I couldn’t help myself.  I was having a bad day.  I needed something new, something to spark my interest.  And spark my interest it did, since I stayed up until 2 a.m. to finish it.  It’s been a while since my knitting has inspired this kind of dedication.

I’m gonna hold off on commenting on my […]

Basking

Today is extraordinarily beautiful.  I went for a long walk this morning and took some photos (this is gonna be a photo-heavy post, all in the name of spring and Project Spectrum, of course!)

Pattern: My own (based on Eunny’s Endpaper Mitts, but modified a lot)
Yarn: Lorna’s Laces in “Tuscany”
Needles: Knitpicks dpns, US 0
Thoughts: Fun, quick, […]

Plugging along

Still in Kentucky, but heading down this evening to MerleFest in North Carolina.
A few notes of interest:
- If you are participating in the Sound Swap, you should have received an e-mail from me with your “swapee.”  If you haven’t, drop me an e-mail and I’ll take care of this ASAP.

- There has been knitting here.  Mom’s fingerless gloves are […]

1. Non-drowsy cold medicines, of all varieties, make me feel high.  I used to think it was just Day-quil, but no.  It’s all non-drowsy meds.  Whatever it is they put in there to counteract the soporific qualities makes me absolutely dizzy-loopy.  It’s a challenge to knit on size 0 needles when you feel loopy.
2.  I’ve […]

As if the nasty weather weren’t enough, I’ve been floored by a particularly aggressive cold.  I haven’t even felt much like knitting, although I cast on and knit a few inches of my mom’s new fingerless gloves (good lord, this particular shade of lorna’s is beautiful!  You would never have known it from the skein, […]

Here’s March’s UFO tackled.  This beautiful alpaca was once both part of a Union Square Market Sweater (waaaay too big) and the wrap sweater from Stitch n’ Bitch Nation.  Both sweaters were started while I still lived in Philly, over a year and a half ago, and I haven’t knit a stitch on them since […]

UGH!  This is the worst.  I just wrote a long post and then lost the whole thing.  Motivation to post = zero.

What must be said?  The Northern Lights mittens (shown here basking in the thursday afternoon sun) are on hold, while I attempt (and attempt.  and attempt.) to rechart the fingers.  We’ll see if I […]

Wow. That’s all I can say to the incredible response to my last post. Thank you all for your suggestions and advice. I decided to plug along and see if I liked the colors any better and if the southwestern feel of the mitten started to grow on me. And, well, it has. I’m still […]

Thanks for all your hopes of health. I slept a lot last night (I’m almost embarassed to admit how much) and feel much better today. And — wonder of wonders — I went outside to take pictures and found that it is warmer outside than it is in my house. It’s deliciously, […]

Tada!  My UFO- Challenge for February.  This skein of Schaefer Anne was well on it’s way to becoming a lace Clapotis before I lost interest in it.  Last night, I pulled it out and ripped it back.  Now it’s waiting for the perfect pattern.  (Notice, I’m taking care of all the “easy” UFOs first…ripping out […]
