Sigh. Today I turned this:
[please ignore the kitty paw prints all over my window sill… it’s their favorite place to sit. Note to self: wash window sills]
into this:
I *heart* the pattern. I *heart* the yarn. But the pattern looks much, much better when it’s not streatched the max, and it was streatching […]

Grade a paper, knit a row. Grade a paper, knit a row. If it keeps going at this rate, I’ll never finish (the sock, that is. With the grading, unfortunately, I have no choice).
See you on the flip side.

Pattern: Baby’s Bootikins, from Knitting Vintage Socks
Yarn: Leftovers of Regia Silk and Lorna’s Laces in “Tuscany” (originally used for Amy’s Socks and my Mom’s Fingerless Gloves)

I made a promise, of sorts, to Minty months ago. I said I was going to start the 365 photo challenge. First, I thought I’d start on a date of monument — my 28th birthday, the beginning of August, something noteworthy or easy to remember. But in the end, today seemed as good as any.

Needles: US 0 dpns
Thoughts: These socks are, as the pattern title might suggest, for the boy. Let […]

Green “fish,” Blue “fish”
A friend of mine (a non-knitter friend and a boy at that!) asked me the other day if I had posted any actual knitting content on my blog recently. Embarassed, I said I had not (although, upon closer inspection, I totally have! Read the blog more often, Matt!) and promised […]
Like much of the east coast, it’s been deliciously cool in Philadelphia these past few days. Unfortunately, that coolness has been accompanied by a lot of rain. The gloom has made photography difficult, but today I gave up and took pictures anyway. Because I had to prove to you all that I have been knitting.
I […]

Well… I don’t know what’s gotten into me. The heat? The travel? The chaos of dissertation writing/life-living? I’m not sure, but not much knitting has been going on here. The New England sock is once again in time-out because I realized after turning the heel that I stopped the leg half a pattern repeat short […]
For the last three nights, I have woken at 5:30 in the morning, been awake for twenty minutes or so, and then fallen back asleep. In each of these instances of wakefulness, I have thought about the fact that it’s been over a week since I last blogged. Today, in a fit of […]
